A message to my loved ones and friends.. On the occasion of the third anniversary of victory:
Hollywood movies constantly show an American soldier returning from service in Iraq and Afghanistan... that he returns to America strong, smart and ready to get back to work even in the most severe conditions. Families, your children may feel ashamed to tell you the truth... but in reality they are anything but.
We in Iraq have seen your soldiers cry out in pain and fear when attacked.
They were afraid to go to the bathrooms when they heard mortar shelling.. And I am talking here about soldiers inside the military bases.. As for those who go out in patrols, many of them were... well.. I will not describe the smell of the inside of their Hummer.
This fear (not heroism) caused them to commit many crimes... and they may also feel ashamed and not tell you what they did back here.
Personally, I lost a friend of mine in Baghdad with a bullet fired by one of your children in his chest... Why? Because he was a bit late in stopping his car at a military checkpoint .. The American soldier assumed he had a bomb inside his car.
Can you understand the extent of hatred in any person’s heart anywhere in the world... when he leaves his home and finds a soldier preventing him from passing through the opposite street? And this soldier comes, across the ocean, to his door without a convincing answer to this constant question.. Why are you here?
When your Foreign Minister Pompeo and your Defense Secretary Asper stand up to say that the International Criminal Court does not have the right to hold American soldiers accountable... this may make you feel somewhat strong, but how long will this power last if the rest of the world see America as a tyrant?
I understand the feeling of a mother, sister, wife, and daughter when she fears for a member of her family who goes to service in Iraq.. But forget the fear for a while and let us ask: For the sake of serving whom?
It is not enough to see, again in the media, that the American flag waves aboard aircraft carriers and military bases.. It is not enough for your child's coffin to be wrapped in the American flag.. This is not enough to convince anyone that this is a service to America.. and to achieve your well-being.
America has enough energy resources and its domestic product is the largest in the world. Until a few years ago, it was a land of dreams, humanity and creative opportunities for many of the deprived on the other side of the Atlantic to the shore of the Pacific Ocean.
Why then are your children being taken to a senseless war... and an unwanted military presence? Isn't that because of the companies that devour the world, devour the oppressed... and devour everything?
And then, of course, when they find nothing more to devour in these made-up wars, they will certainly devour the American people.
Today, 6/13/20, we celebrate in Iraq the sixth anniversary of an event pivotal in our history... when Ayatollah Sistani, the man of peace and the spiritual father of all Iraqis, decided to motivate the Iraqi people to confront the attacks of ISIS and its advance to the capital Baghdad... The conditions did not leave any choice before this peaceful man other than to fight to defend the Homeland.
Because his followers were true in their fight, the war ended in only four years. While White House officials said that this war will continue for decades. They did not give Iraq enough weapon to defend itself because they actually wanted the battle to continue. When the general says I want missiles ... the fearful people will not say a word .. and they will pay all they’ve got to the American arms manufacturer.. This is what the world looks like for your decision-makers.
Do the American people have a word? Do they really want to restore the American dream full of blossom and hope?

رسالة الى أحبتي وأصدقائي .. بمناسبة مرور ثلاثة أعوام على الانتصار :
تظهر أفلام هوليود بشكل مستمر أن الجندي الأمريكي العائد من الخدمة في العراق وأفغانستان .. يعود الى أمريكا قوياً وذكياً ومستعداً للعمل في أكثر الظروف قسوة .
أيتها العائلات .. ربما يخجل أولادكم من قول الحقيقة لكم .. ولكنهم بالتأكيد ليسوا كذلك .
نحن في العراق رأينا جنودكم كيف يصرخون من الألم والخوف عندما يتعرضون للهجمات .
لقد كانوا يخافون من الخروج الى الحمامات إذا سمعوا بوجود قصف بصواريخ الهاون .. وأتكلم هنا عن الجنود في داخل القواعد العسكرية .. أما الذين يخرجون في دوريات فالكثير منهم كان ... حسناً .. لن أصف رائحة عجلته ( الهمر ) .
هذا الخوف ( وليس البطولة ) جعلهم يرتكبون الكثير من الجرائم .. وقد يخجلون منكم أيضاً ولايقولون لكم ماذا صنعوا .
أنا شخصياً فقدت أحد أصدقائي في بغداد برصاصة أطلقها أحد أولادكم في صدره .. لماذا ؟ لأنه تأخر في إيقاف سيارته عند الحاجز العسكري .. وظن الجندي الأمريكي أنها سيارة مفخخة .
هل تفهمون مدى الشعور بالكراهية عند أي فرد في العالم .. عندما يخرج من بيته ويجد جندياً يمنعه من المرور في الشارع المقابل ؟ وهذا الجندي عبر المحيط وجاء الى باب بيته من دون سبب مقنع لهذا التساؤل الدائم ( لماذا أنتم هنا ) ؟
عندما يقف وزير خارجيتكم بومبيو ووزير دفاعكم أسبر ليقولا أن محكمة الجنايات الدولية ليس من حقها محاسبة الجنود الأمريكيين .. فهذا قد يشعركم ببعض القوة ولكن الى متى سوف تستمر هذه القوة إن كانت بقية الشعوب ترى أمريكا دولة طاغية ؟
أنا أفهم شعور الأم والأخت والزوجة والبنت عندما تخاف على فرد من عائلتها يذهب الى الخدمة في العراق .. ولكن أتركوا الخوف قليلاً ودعونا نتسائل : من أجل خدمة من ؟
لايكفي أن نرى _ في هوليود مرة أخرى _ أن يرفرف العلم الأمريكي على متن حاملات الطائرات وفي القواعد العسكرية .. ولايكفي أن يعود نعش ولدكم ملفوفاً بالعلم الأمريكي .. هذا كله لايكفي لتصدقوا أن ذلك خدمة لأمريكا.. ولتحقيق رفاهيتكم .
أمريكا لديها مايكفي من موارد الطاقة .. وناتجها المحلي أكبر ناتج في العالم .. وكانت الى ماقبل سنوات قليلة أرض الأحلام .. والإنسانية .. والفرص الخلاقة .. بالنسبة للكثير من المحرومين على الضفة الأخرى من الأطلنطي وصولاً الى ضفة المحيط الهادئ .
لماذا إذن يتم اقتياد أولادكم الى حرب لامعنى لها .. ووجود عسكري غير مرغوب فيه ؟ أليس ذلك لأجل الشركات التي تلتهم العالم وتلتهم المظلومين .. وتلتهم كل شيئ .
وبالتأكيد عندما لا تجد شيئاً تلتهمه في الحروب المصطنعة .. ستلتهم أبناء أمريكا .
هذا اليوم ١٣/ ٦ نعيش في العراق احتفالاً كبيراً بالذكرى السادسة للحدث المؤثر في تاريخنا .. عندما قرر آية الله السيستاني رجل السلام والأب الروحي لكل العراقيين .. أن يحفز أبناء الشعب العراقي للتصدي لهجمات الإرهاب الداعشي وزحفه الى العاصمة بغداد .. ولم تترك الظروف أمام هذا الرجل المسالم أي خيار سوى القتال للدفاع عن الوطن .
ولأن أتباعه كانوا صادقين في قتالهم فقد انتهت الحرب خلال أربع سنوات فقط .
بينما كان المسؤولون في البيت الأبيض يقولون أن هذه الحرب سوف تستمر لعقود .. ولم يمنحوا العراق السلاح الكافي للدفاع عن نفسه .. لأنهم يريدون للمعركة فعلاً أن تستمر .. فعندما يقول الجنرال أريد الصواريخ .. لن يقول الشعب الخائف كلمة واحدة .. وسيدفع كل ما يملك لصانع السلاح الأمريكي .. هذا هو شكل العالم الذي يريده أصحاب القرار عندكم .
هل للشعب الأمريكي كلمة ؟ وهل يريد فعلاً استعادة الحلم الأمريكي المليئ بالعنفوان والأمل ؟
